June 30, 1863 to December 31, 1863

1863 Aug. 25th left Rome Ga. for Lafayette from there to Alpine, where we had some skirmishing. Sept. 18 & 19th the Company participated in the Battle of Chicamauga, in which two of the Company was slightly wounded and several horses wounded. About the 1st of Oct. the company with the Reg't crossed the Tenn. River at Cotton Port with the other portion of Genl Wheeler's Corps and was with the command onthe [road] through Middle Tenn. Oct. 8th, the Company had an engagement with the Yankees at Farmington Tenn. in which four members of the Company was wounded and quite a number of horses killed, and wounded. About the 10th recrossed teh Tenn. River near Courtland Ala. Oct. 18th found Co. F encamped near Decatur Ala. About the 26th Oct. the Coimpany with the Regt was transsferd to the Department at East Tenn. and was with Gen'l Longstreet during the siege of Knoxville. Dec. 10 found the company marching Morristown East Tenn. Dec. 16th Capt. Wm. R. Jarmon of Co.F was acting Maj. of the Regt. and was wounded in the arm in an engagement with the enemy near [_______] East Tenn. Dec. 26th had an engagement with the enemy near [Mosses] Creek Station in which one of the Co was slightly wounded with a shell and several horses wounded. Dec. 28th was with Genl. [Martin's] command when he attacked the enemy four miles north of Moose Creek Station and drove them beyond the Statin to their entrenchment: had one man slightly wounded, two horses killed and several wounded. [___] the 28th Dec. have been Picketting 7 or 8 miles south of Morristown up to the present date Jun. 9th 1864 B. E. Jones, Lt. Comdg.
