Camp Terry
On the 18th of Decr Company (E) marched from Camp Oaklin to Cave City a distance of twenty miles and __________ the 19th was sent out with a working party under the command of Col. Hawthorn for the purpose of watching for the enemy while he was destroying the Rail Road above Horse Cave. On the 21st from a report that the enemy was advancing the Regiment was formed in line of battle and Company (E) was ordered to Horse Cave to facilitate the return and to assist in covering the retreat of the working party which had been sent out that day. For every succeeding day but one __________ we were ordered to the place for __________ organization the Company or a portion of it ___________ scouting. We arrived here Woodburn on the 29th
