Camp Johnson

Company organized at Houston Sept. 26, 186 by being sworn in - Capt. Thos Harrison & No. of Com Officers 4. Enlisted over 87. Sept Houston by Rail Road Sept. 3 (80 miles). Arrived at Beaumont by Steam Boat for Niblets Bluff. 70 miles. Arrived _______ day. Thence marched 40 miles to New Iberia. Thence by Steamboat to Brashar City 80 miles. Thence to N. Orleans by R.Road 80 miles. Arrived at N. Orleans Oct. 13th. Left 17 Oct. by R.Road 850 miles for Bowling, Kentucky. Arrived at Bowling Green Oct. 20 and thence one mile (over) to camp Johnson. Capt. Harrison elected Major [first] Reg Texas Rangers Oct. 28 First Lieut. to the vacated captaincy Oct. 26 Private Lowe to vacated 1st Lieutenancy.
