Born in Pittsylvania County, VA on December 11, 1839.
Joined the Honey Grove Texas Militia in 1861.
Mustered into Young's 11th Texas Cavalry by the end of 1861.
Member of 11th Texas Cavalry, and served with Shannon's Scouts.
Later joined the Army of Tennessee.
Married Mildred Fanny Gilbert on September 20, 1869.
Resided in Grayson County.
Married Mittie Ellen Ramsey on January 20, 1882 in Bells, TX.
Occupied as a farmer and drug store owner.
Fathered five children.
Died May 16, 1926 in Bells, TX.
Buried at West Cemetery in Bells, TX along with both wives.
