Selma, Ala., March 17th, 1864
Private George Q. Turner, Company C 8th Texas Cav Regiment, Harrison's Brigade, having applied for a Furlough, the Board of Examiners have carefully examined him, and find that he is unfit for military duty in consequence of chronic Diarrhaea and great debility, from the effects of which he has suffered since 6 months.
We further declare our belief that he will not be fit for duty in a less period than thirty days and as his life and convalescence will not be endangered thereby, in accordance with Paragraph III, General Orders No. 141, A. & I. G. Office, 1863 we do recommend him an extension for thirty days, to go to Mobile, Ala. his place of residence.
