Know all men by these presents, that I, Thomas J. Burrows, late a Private in Capt. S P Christian's Company (K) 8th Regiment Texas Cavalry, do hereby appoint E Burrows my true and lawful agent, to receive all moneys due to me from the Confederate States, on my final statement from said company and for me and in my name to give receipts for the same
In Witness whereof, I have [???] set my hand at Galveston, Texas, this 14th day of May, 1863.
