Certificate of Discharge.
I certify that the within named A. C. Baker a private of Captain King's Company (A) of the 8th Regt. Texas Cavalry, born in Caldwell Co. in the State of Kentucky aged twenty nine years, five feet seven inches high, dark complexion, gray eyes, dark hair and by profession when enlisted a merchant, was enlisted by S. S. Hosea at Branham Texas on the 15th day of March A.D. 1862, to serve during the war and is now entitled to a discharge by reason of disability.
The said A.
C. Baker has pay due him from the time of enlistment (Mch 15th/62) up
to the present time $42.00
Due him on account of clothing and drawn in kind $14.56
Due him as bounty on enlistment $50.00
Due him transportation mileage at 12 cts per mile from Chattanooga Tenn. to
Houston Texas a distance of 900 miles, transportation cost being furnished
in kind $90.00
