Discharge on Certificate of Disability for SL Anderson - July 2, 1862

I certify that the written named S. L. Anderson a private of Captain Wm. R. Jarmon's Company (F) of the eighth regiment of Texas cavalry, born in Fayette county, in the State of Texas, aged 19 years, five feet-eight-inches high, dark complexion, dark eyes, dark hair, and by profession a farmer, was enlisted by Liet Sparks at Houston in the State of Texas on the 7th day of September A.D. 1861, to serve for the war, and is now entitled to a discharge by reason of a certificate of disability.

The said S. L. Anderson was last paid by Paymaster Major Claiborne to include the 28th day of February A. D. 1862, and has pay due him from that time to the present date - to wit = forty eight 80/100 ($48.00) dollars.

There is due him thirty three dollars and eighty cents ($33.80) on account of clothing not drawn in kind. He is entitled to transportation from Chattanooga Tennessee to Houston Texas the place of his enlistment, or one hundred dollars ($100.00) commutation money in him thereof.

Given in duplicate at camp Rossville Georgia this the 2nd day of July A. D. 1862.
