Former Lake Charles Citizen Dies at Arlington, Tex.
Lake Charles friends will deeply regret to learn that Capt. W. H. Albertson, for many years a citizen of Lake Charles, died at the Texas soldiers' home at Arlington last Friday, aged 73 years.
Capt. Albertson was a native of Alabama, but settled in Texas in early life, and served gallantly through the civil war in Terry's Texas Ranges [sic]. After the war he resided for a time in Houston, coming to Lake Charles some years later. He left here to make Beaumont his home, but a few months ago went to the Soldiers' Home to spend his declining days.
Besides his bereaved widow, Mr. Albertson is survived by two daughters, Mrs. A. L. Williams, of Houston and formerly of Beaumont, and Mrs. J. E. George, of El Paso, and also a son, residing in Houston. The funeral and interment took place at Arlington on Sunday. Mr. Albertson was a Mason of high rank and a member of the Albert Sidney Johnston camp of the United Confederate Veterans of this city.
