Ed. Telegraph - ... a tribute to the memory of Lieut. B. F. Batchelor, Co. C, of the Rangers, who fell mortally wounded near Coosieville, Ga., early in November. Falling in the enemy's hands, he soon died and ws buried by them in Rome. He was commanding his company at the time, and was engaged in a hand-to-hand fight when he recieved the fatal shot. Thus perished one of our noblest comrades. A decided Christian, a genial companion, a thorough officer, and a gallant soldier, his loss is irreparable. To him I could always look for sympathy and assistance in my work. He ws my personal friend, and my brother in Christ. But he, too, has fought the good fight, finished his course, and is now at rest. ...
