We are indebted to Mr. J. M. Brownson, of Company E, in Terry's Regiment, for the following statement of casualties in Wharton's Regiment in the battle of Shiloh. Mr. B. says this statement may be relied on as correct as far as it goes. He was among the wounded and was returned home in consequence. Col. John A. Wharton was slightly wounded in the right leg below the knee, but not disabled.

Clinton Terry, brother of Col. Terry, who was acting with the Rangers, but without belonging to the company, was shot in the [side] in the first charge made by the Regiment, with the advance, on the 6th, but lived till the 14th, and died on the morning of that day. His remains are on the way to Texas, and will probably be here by next train:

Company A, Capt. King—Private Danl. Neill, killed instantly; 1st Lt. Lowe, killed instantly; Beavers wounded mortally; Capt. King, arm broken; 2d Lt. Gordon, leg broken; Ord. Sergt. Freeman leg broken; probably there may be others wounde din this Company.

Company B—William Ash, killed; nothing further known of this Company.

Company C, Capt. EvansWood, wounded in the arm; private, name unknown, shot through the neck but will probably recover.

Company D, Capt. FerrellJohn Crane, killed; Beard Miller, wounded in the arm; John Washington, wounded and missing; some others wounded but names not known.

Company E, Capt. Rayburn—Capt. wounded in the right arm; 2d Lt. H. E. Story, wounded in the leg; J. M. Brownson, wounded in the right leg by cannon ball, killing his horse and another; John Littlefield, wounded in the right arm; M. Contreras, left arm broken; J. M. Samples, flesh wound in the thigh; nine horses killed and wounded in this Company.

Company F, Capt. Wm. GermanJ. T. Culpepper wounded in the leg; Sedbetter wounded in the left side, not dangerous; Joseph Andrews wounded and missing.

Company G, Capt. W. Y. Houston—no one wounded in this company.

Company H, Capt. Gustave Cook—Capt. Cook wounded in the arm; private Cook, killed; T. Barrington, shot in the left side of his face, by a minnie ball entering under the left eye and coming out behind the left ear—will recover; private Spencer, leg broken and amputated; Hurshfield, wounded in the hand.

Company I, Capt. I. G. JonesCharles Howard shot in the breast, the ball coming out at the left shoulder—recovering fast.

Company K, Capt. Christian—casualties unknown, but supposed to be but few.
