Obituary of James Howard Bush

Galveston Weekly News
January 14, 1862, p. 2, c.

The Bellville "Countryman" published the following obituary notice from the Nashville (Tenn.) "Republican and Banner," which adds: The deceased was a son of Capt. N. W. Bush of Texas, and a gallant and worthy member of Capt. J. A. Wharton's company of Texas Rangers. He came from the encampment at Bowling Green, Ky., as an invalid to this city and died a victim to typhoid fever.--He endured his illness as a true soldier, and passed away in full consciousness, apparently resigned to his fate.

OBITUARY.--On Monday, the 25th inst., at the residence of Henry T. Yeatman, of this city, died JAMES HOWARD BUSH, of Hempstead, Austin county, Texas.
