Ross Brooks, one of Cochise county's oldest peace officers, died today in the state hospital, according to word recieved here. Brooks was a mounted officer, a ranger, and a deputy sheriff at various times in his career of peace officer work. He became seriously ill a few weeks ago and was taken to Phoenix. No funeral arrangements will be made until word has been recieved from relatives in New Mexico.
