"Your September number strikes the proper key, full to overflowing of
reminiscences by veterans who were actually in the field and know whereof
they speak. Keep the Confederate Veteran on this line. I served as
the adjutant of the Terry Texas Rangers, or the Eighth Texas Cavalry, and
subsequently as adjutant general of Harrison's Brigade."
