Dear Father and Mother
[mentions concurrent letter to Tea; asks Father to send horses for himself
and John. Regt has been dismounted for some time; "...we have been run
near to killing almost ever since we have been Infatry." Officers think
they would make better cavalry than infantry and better than present cavalry;
asked that saddles and other equipment be rigged; "... and if it is possible
for you to get a pr. of boots made by Brooks at Corsicana I wish you would
do it ..."; sends $40.00]
