Issac Fulkerson of the famed "Terry's Texas Rangers:"
Autograph letter signed by this Confederate officer, two pages, quarto, dated October 27, 1862 describing the Battle of Perryville, Kentucky (October 8, 1862). Written to his sister Kate, from Knoxville he describes heavy fighting with Union troops.
"...we arrived at this place yesterday off of one of the longest, hardest and most dangerous trips... I think I can safely say that I have been under the fire of the enemy at least forty times since I saw you. At one time a shell struck a man and horse near me killing both and covering me all over with blood and flesh..."
