Diaries & Journals

Diary of GL Macmurphy. Many of the soldiers carried diaries or journals during the war. When found these often prove to be an invaluable resource for tracking the Rangers' activities during the war. Even seemingly "mundane" entries describing such things as when and where they ate, the weather, and attitudes towards others in the regiment can be valuable clues in better understanding the Rangers. The following is intended to be a list of all identified diaries, journals, and scrapbooks belonging to Terry's Texas Rangers. Not all are available online but we list them here as a way of noting their existence for researchers and future generations.
