Enlisted in the Confederate Army Sept. 7, 1861, at Houston, Tex., as private in Company F, Eighth Texas Cavalry, Harrison's Brigade, Armstrong's Division, Wheeler's Corps, Army of Tennessee. Stroble, first Captain, and Terry, first Colonel.
