Richard West

~1830 - 1869

Born at NC around 1830.
Resided at Lynchburg, Harris County, TX in 1860 with brothers R. M. West and J. H. West; occupied as a wood cutter and farmer.
Described as 6'2", light hair, light complexion, and blue eyes.

Mustered into Company K either at Houston, TX on May 8, 1862 by Lieutenant Groce, or at Hempstead, TX on May 13, 1862.
Absent (possibly) in August 1862.
Discharged in January 1863 due to chronic diarrhea.
Rejoined (possibly), as was said to have been wounded twice, returning home each time.

Died in 1869.
