Born in Alabama around 1829.
Resided in Houston, Harris County, TX.

Granted commission to raise company by B. F. Terry on August 7, 1861.
Mustered into Company K at Hostston, TX on September 7, 1861.
Elected Captain.
Wounded with gunshot to right arm at Woodsonville, KY on December 17, 1861.
Returned to Texas by way of New Orleans in December 1861. (Possibly accompanied body of B. F. Terry.)
Elected Lieutenant Colonel in January 1862.
Recruited for the regiment in TX during the spring of 1862.
Regained regiment in July 1862.
Commanded regiment.
Resigned on September 25, 1862.

Served as Provost Marshall (Colonel) at Nibletts Bluff, TX by November 1863.

Died July 2, 1869.

First Cousin of Major General John G. Walker.
