Born in either SC or Halifax County, NC around 1833.
Resided at Brenham, Washington County, TX in 1860; occupied as a gentleman and planter.
Described as 6'__" with dark hair, dark complexion, and blue eyes.

Mustered into Company B at Houston, TX on September 7, 1861.
Furloughed to TX in April 1862 due to illness.
Departed in June 1862, apparently intending to travel to VA to join a unit there (Jones Roster).
Returned to regiment by November 1862.
Discharged November 1862 at Murfreesboro, TN, according to Claiborne.
