Born in Brazoria, TX in 1842.
Resided at Sugarland, Ft. Bend County, TX in 1860 with parents and five siblings;
occupied as a student.
Mustered into Company H at Houston, TX on September 7, 1862.
Served as 4th Corporal (Claiborne lists him as 1st Corp.)
Escorted Col. Terry's remains back to TX following the battle at Woodsonville,
KY in December 1861.
Regained regiment in March 1862.
Discharged in April 1862, and accompanied uncle's body to TX.
Regained regiment at Murfreesboro, TN in October 1862 with two companies of
men, with rank of Lieutenant.
Assigned (possibly as Captain) to Brigadier General Wharton's
staff as volunteer aide in November 1862.
Commanded scouts.
Departed for TX in March 1864 as aide-de-camp to General Wharton.
