Practiced Law in Brazoria County, TX. (Partner with John A. Wharton).
Claiborne lists him as being a judge.

Served with the Rangers in 1862 as a volunteer aide to Col. Wharton.
Mortally wounded during the Sunday afternoon encounter with the enemy near the boggy ravine at Shiloh, TN on April 6, 1862.

Buried in the Terry Family Plot, Sandy Point Cemetery, Brazoria County, TX.
