Born in GA in 1841.
Resided at Personville, Limestone County, TX in 1860 with relatives.

Mustered into Company C at Houston, TX on September 12, 1861.
May have served in frontier defense at Ft. Griffin, Shackleford County, TX in early 1861.
Captured at Murfreesboro, TN on December 31, 1862.
Forwarded to Camp Douglas, IL and then to City Point, VA.
Exchanged in April 1863.
Rejoined command.
Left in Middle TN by December 1863, and supposed captured.
Captured with four other Rangers and executed by detachment of Union Col. Stokes' 5th TN Cav. near Sparta, White County, TN on March 12, 1864, which came to be known as the Sinking Cane (TN) Massacre.
