William Henry Sharp

~1837 - October 10, 1897

Born in GA around 1837.
Resided at Columbia, Brazoria County, TX in 1860 with parents and five siblings; occupied as a planter.

Mustered into Company B at Houston, TX on September 7, 1861.
Elected 2nd Lieutenant.
Present in August 1862.
Absent (possibly) by October 1862.
Suffered flesh wound to left breast and captured at Murfreesboro, TN on December 31, 1862.
Ordered to report to conscript officer in February 1863.
Regained regiment by August 1863, when detached with squad to press horses.
Present in May 1864.
(Jones Roster indicates that James Nicholson's reference to Sharpe's being killed during Wheeler's 1863 raid is in error.)
