William Lewis Sharkey

June 1839 - October 12, 1904

Born in Botetourt County, VA in June 1839.
Family moved to Victoria, TX in 1853.
Resided at Victoria, Victoria County, TX in 1860 with mother and siblings.

Mustered into Company G at Houston, TX on September 16, 1861.
Promoted to quartermaster duty by November 1861.
Ill at Auburn, AL hospital by December 1863.
Listed as present March 1864.
On duty (probably) in Auburn, AL by June 1864.
Bunting described him as a "patient" in TX General Hospital at Auburn, AL in February 1865.
Paroled in May 1865.

Cared for the sick during the yellow fever epidemic in Victoria, TX.
Cared for the sick during Memphis, TN epidemic.
Married and widowed before his own death.
Died in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, CA in October 1904.
Buried at Rosedale Cemetery, Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, CA.
