Born in VA (or possibly MS) on February 22, 1843.
Resided at Cedar Creek, Bastrop County, TX in 1860 with father and two siblings; occupied as a student.

Mustered into Company D at Houston, TX on September 7, 1861.
Promoted to Regimental Sergeant Major in October 1861.
Promoted to Adjutant General's Department, with rank of Lieutenant or Major in November 1862.
Promoted to Brigadier General Wharton's staff as Inspector General by May 1863.
Promoted to Captain by August 1863 (according to Bunting).
Returned from trip to Richmond, VA in April 1864.
Present as 1st Lieutenant in June 1864.
Wounded near Johnsonville, NC on March 10, 1865.

Died February 24, 1898.
