Born in KY in 1825. (Jones Roster indicates born in AL-taken from census.)
Probably married between 1850 and 1852 (see census records).
Moved to TX between 1853 and 1856 (see census records).
Resided at San Gabriel, Milam County, TX in 1860 with wife and six children; occupied as a stockraiser.

Enlisted with Company A at Houston, TX on September 25, 1861.
Elected 1st Corporal.
Killed at the courthouse in Murfreesboro, TN on July 13, 1862.

I could find no other Ross children - mother may have remarried and the entire family went by the second husband's name.
