Resided in Lockhart, Caldwell County, TX where he was employed as a clerk.
Mustered in with Company D in Houston TX on September 25, 1861.
Promoted to Regimental hospital steward or Assistant Surgeon by October 1861.
Accompanied 30 sick men to Atlanta, GA in March 1862.
Served as Regimental Surgeon from April 1862 to November 1862.
Captured while tending to wounded men near Murfreesboro, TN in August 1862
but promptly released.
Failed examination before medical board at Murfreesboro, TN in December 1862
and immediately left the Regiment.
Listed as absent in May 1863 and at war's end.
