Jonathan Cochran Pool
August 6, 1806 - February 21, 1886
Born on Cherokee lands (now Newton County) in Georgia on August 6, 1806
Settled near Pool Springs, in Falls County, TX about 1849.
Married Celia Emeline Pierson, daughter of John G. W. Pierson, about 1830.
They had six children before Cecilia died around 1850
He served in the Army of the Republic of Texas.
He was issued a bounty warrant in 1851.
In 1874 was granted an annual pension by the state of Texas for this service.
He lived in Nacogdoches, Robertson, Walker, and Houston counties
In 1852 he settled in Falls County.
He married Jemima Crownover and fathered one more child
He was enlisted by Capt Harrison on September 25, 1861 at age 55.
Present for duty through December 1861.
Reported as absent without leave in August 1862.
He died in Falls County on February 21, 1886.
He is buried in a small family cemetery four miles southeast of Lott, Texas.
His brother-in-law, John Hogue Pierson also served in Terry's Rangers.
