Born in Vincennes, IN on August 30, 1842.
Moved with family to TX around 1852.
Educated at Aranama Collge.
Possibly resided in Bexar County, TX.

Mustered into Company G at Houston, TX on September 16, 1861.
Promoted to 2nd Lieutenant in May 1863.
Reduced in Rank to 3rd Lieutenant by Decmeber 1863.
Present in March 1864.
Appointed as Regimental Adjutant by war's end.

Returned to his plantation after the war.
Married Miss Mary Bickford of Refugio County, TX on October 1, 1868.
Member of the County Commissioners' Court of Victoria County from 1874 to 1882.
Acted as a representative in the 18th TX Legislature.
Appointed United States collector of customs at Del Rio, TX in 1885, serving four and a half years.
Acted as assistant adjutant-general of TX.
Member of the Masonic fraternity.
