Born in Early County, GA on August 13, 1840.
Moved with family to Mississippi around 1842.
Moved with family to Gonzales County, TX in December 1848, arriving there
in January 1849.
Educated at Gonzales College, Gonzales County, TX.
Resided in Gonzales, Gonzales County, TX in 1860.
Mustered into Company I at Houston, TX on September 4 or 11,
1861.
Elected 3rd Lieutenant.
Promoted to 2nd Lieutenant by January 1862.
Promoted to 1st Lieutenant in May 1862.
Commanded company by June 1862.
Received slight wound to heel at Murfreesboro, TN on December 31, 1862 or
January 1, 1863.
Received furlough in early 1863 and returned to TX.
Returned to regiment in June 1863 with ten recruits after being published
as a deserter on May 30, 1863.
Commanded company by February 1864.
Promoted to Fourth Captain in June 1864.
Wounded - leg badly broken below the knee - near Newnan, GA on July 30, 1864.
Claiborne indicates another wound on December 30, 1864, but this may be an
error.
Discharged (apparently) in March 1865 due to the battle wounds and broken
leg.
Reached home in TX in July 1865.
Member of Terry Lodge, Regimental, Masonic Chapter.
Married Mary Jane Goodson on October 28, 1866.
Occupied as a farmer until 1875 (presumably in Gonzales County,
TX).
Engaged in cattle business for a time in Gonzales County.
Moved to Runnels County, TX in 1879.
Resided in Abilene, Taylor County, TX.
Died between 1910 and 1920, most likely at Abilene, TX.
Buried at Abilene Masonic Cemetery, Abilene, Taylor County, TX.
