John Hogue Pierson

April 17, 1817 - June 9, 1867

Born at Union County, KY on April 17, 1817.
His father was an early pioneer in Falls County, TX.
Resided at Marlin, Falls County, TX in 1860 with W. H. Evans, Co. A.
Acted as a Texas Ranger before the War; was a veteran of the War for Texas Independence and the Mexican War.

Enlisted by Capt. Harrison in Falls County on Sep 10, 1861.
Mustered into Company A at Houston, TX on September 25, 1861.
Served as Farrier.
Discharged at Murfreesboro, TN (apparently), on February 26, 1862, due to rheumation and chronic diarrhea.

Died about 1867 in Falls County, TX.

Brother-in-law of Jonathan Cochran Pool(e), Company A.
