Charles Morgan Pearre

April 22, 1838 - July 29, 1905


 

Born near Unionville, Carroll County, MD on April 22, 1838.
Graduated from Dickinson College, Carlisle, PA in 1858.
Moved to TX in 1860 and engaged in stock-raising.
Possibly resided at McLennan County, TX (Jones Roster).

Mustered into Company A at Houston, TX on September 25, 1861.
Promoted to 2nd Corporal in October 1861.
Commanded company as 1st Lieutenant by April 17, 1862 to at least December 1863.
Absent in February 1863 due to illness.
Present in February 1864.
Member of Terry Lodge, Regimental Masonic Chapter.
Paroled at Memphis, TN, five days ending May 31, 1865 (Jones Roster).

Returned to TX after the war and engaged in the mercantile business at Bryan, TX.
Married Miss Anna V. Martin in 1870.
Moved to Galveston, TX in 1872.

Cousin of T. Harrison, Co. A.
Possible relation to Charles B. Pearre, Co. A.
