Born in AL about 1822.
Resided in Montgomery, Montgomery County, TX iin 1860 with wife and five children, and occupied as sheriff.

Mustered into Company K at Houston, TX on September 7, 1861.
Elected 1st Lieutenant.
Received gunshot wound through arm and lungs at Woodsonville, KY on December 17, 1861.
Hospitalized in Nashville, TN at least until January 1862.
Resigned due to battle wounds in February 1862.

Recommended for Montgomery County provost marshall position in August 1862 by Texas Governor Lubbock.

May have eventually died as a result of the battle wounds.
