John Milton Morin

April 1819 - December 11, 1914

Born in April 1819 (or possibly ~1822) at KY.
Married Mary A. Keen on January 14, 1846 at Campbell County, KY.
Resided at Lexington, Burleson County, TX in 1860 with wife, six children, and others; occupied as a farmer.

Mustered into Company D at Houston, TX on September 7, 1861.
Discharged on April 16, 1862, by substitution according to Claiborne.
Possibly promoted to Captain, as indicated by wartime newspaper articles. Andy Jones Roster suggests the discharge may have actually been a transfer and/or promotion.

Elected Lt. Col. of the Third Cavalry Battalion, Texas State Troops on August 6, 1863.
Stationed at Sabine Pass in November 1863.
Stationed at Houston, TX in December 1863.
Mustered out early in 1864.

Died December 11, 1914 of senility at Cross Timbers, Harris County, TX.
Buried December 12, 1914 at "Greens Bayou," according to death certificate.

Headstone dedication held at Schlobohm Cemetery on October 11, 2008.
