Woods Shelton Miller

Born in AL or TN in October 1843.
Prior to 1855 his father had moved to Bastrop, Texas, and married Elizabeth
E. Morgan, becoming a Bastrop County delegate to the Texas Secession Convention
in March 1861, along with Thomas Baytop Jefferson Hill.
Mustered into Company D at Houston, TX on September 7, 1861.
Present in February 1864.
Sold his furlough to G. B. Burke, Co. D, for
$1,000 in March 1864.
Married Margaret Hemphill on March 22, 1871, in Bastrop County, TX.
Married Julia A. in Como, Hopkins County, TX in 1896.
First cousin of Anna Elizabeth Douglass, who married Thomas A. Gill, Co. D.
