George Washington McNeel

Born in TX around 1836.
Possibly resided in Brazoria County, TX.

Mustered into Company B at Houston, TX on September 7, 1861.
Elected 1st Lieutenant.
Transferred to General Hindman's staff in January 1862.
Transferred (apparently) to Brigadier General Wharton's staff by December 1862.
Promoted to Provost Marshall by June 1863.
Transferred to B. F. White's artillery battery as 1st Lieutenant by June 1863.
Assigned (apparently) to Division Inspector for District of TX, NM and AZ, or Western District of TX, by December 1863 through at least April 1864.
Promoted to Major in January 1864.
Killed on May 7, 1864 while temporarily serving as Assistant Inspector General to General Wharton.
