Resided at Hallettsville, Lavaca County, TX in 1860 with parents and four
siblings; occupied as a farmer.
Described as 6'2" with dark hair, dark complexion, and black eyes.
Mustered into Company F at Houston, TX on September 7, 1861.
Possibly absent by August 1862, later returning (Jones Roster).
Suffered side wound by shell while acting as vidette at Perryville, KY on
October 8, 1862, and left behind.
Captured near Crab Orchard, KY on October 16, 1862.
Exchanged at Vicksburg, MS in December 1862.
Wounded, possibly at Murfreesboro, TN, in December 1862.
Discharged in February 1863 due to battle wounds, including gunshot to arm
and left pelvis.
