Born in MS around 1844 or 1846.
Resided in DeWitt County, TX in 1860 with father and seven siblings.

Mustered into Company E at Houston, TX on September 12, 1861.
Received would to arm by horse at Murfreesboro, TN on July 13, 1862.
Promoted to 2nd Corporal by April 1863.
May have received furlough to TX in October 1863.
Demoted to private by January 1864.
Present in February 1864.
Received wounds three times in 1864, including wounds to hand and leg.
Served in "secret service" in TN with J. M. Claiborne, Co. D, from July 1864 to unknown date.
Member of Shannon's Scouts.
Present in March 1865.
Killed near Chappell Hill, NC or Raleigh, NC on April 11, 1865, by gunshot wound to head or back by a Union prisoner when both were on Lynch's horse.
Was the last man in the regiment to be killed during the War.

Cousin of Joseph Miller Lynch, Co. C, and William Andrew Lynch, Co. C.
