Initially a member of the 7th Texas Infantry, Co. G (where brother
John also served).
Mustered into Company C at Marshall, TX on October 2, 1861 by A. C. Frazier.
Wounded at Fort Donelson, TN in February 1862.
Transferred to the 8th Texas Cavalry, Company C after February 1862.
Received mortal wounds at Farmington, TN on October 7, 1863.
Died October 8, 1863.
Buried at Farmington, TN.
Reinterred at Culleoka, TN.
Member of Terry Lodge, Regimental Masonic Chapter.
