Charles Erasmus Littlefield
August 24, 1840 - March 29, 1915
Born in Panola County, MS on August 24, 1840.
Resided with parents and three siblings in Belmont, Gonzales County, TX in
1860; occupied as a student.
Mustered in with Company E in Houston, TX on September 12, 1861.
Elected 4th Sergeant.
Sufferred gunshot wound through both thighs or hip in attack on stockade near
McMinnville, TN on August 29, 1862.
Left with brother C. C. Littlefield near
Manchester, TN to recover. (Jones Roster indicates "apparently after
being captured and promptly released.")
Absent to at least September 1862.
Promoted to 2nd Lieutenant.
Received furlough by January 1864.
Possibly married Elizabeth Brazzell.
Possibly married Mary Elizabeth Vancil around 1872 in Gonzales County, TX.
(Another source indicates marriage occurred November 28, 1898 in Gonzales
County, TX.)
Possibly married Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" Conner around 1890.
Died in Gonzales County, TX on March 29, 1915.
