at San Jacinto, was one of the first roving rangers, was a hero in the Storming
of Bexar, and was 2nd Sheriff of Washington County, TX d. 1860 Springfield,
Limestone County, TX).
Mother: Mary Cecelia Miller Lynch (b:Mar. 19, 1820, d. June 12, 1852)
William A Lynch is listed as a stock raiser on the 1860 US Sensus for McLennan
County, TX.
Left Springfield, Limestone County, TX on September 8, 1861
Enlisted in Houston on September 12, 1861.
On the first Scout November 5, 1861.
Detailed to care for sick and became sick, Winter 1861-62.
Spent the night with Yankees under a flag of truce near Washington, TN?.
Reported as Left Sick near Lebanon, GA in October 1863.
Master Mason in the Terry Lodge.
Wounded in Leg and side near Rome, GA July 1864.
Served as one of Shannon's Scouts.
Cousin of J. Emit Lynch, Company E.
Never married.
Despondent over war injuries that never healed, he commited suicide in 1869,
Limestone County, TX.
Believed to be one of the men in the photo of five
seated Rangers.
