Theodore Uglow Lubbock

December 24, 1841 - March 16, 1913


 

Born at Houston, Harris County, TX on December 24, 1841.
Adopted by TX Governor Francis R. Lubbock.
Resided at Lynchburg, Harris County, TX in 1860 with parents; occupied as a student at Virginia Military Institute.
Described as 5'10" with dark hair, dark complexion, and light eyes.

Mustered into Company K at Houston, TX on either October 28, 1861 or July 9, 1862 by Lt. Keyworth; transferred from Capt. Botts' company (possibly of the 2nd VA Cav) in October 1861 or July 1862 (Jones Roster) .
Hospitalized at Tuscumbia Valley, AL in May and June 1862.
Discharged as 1st Sergeant in October 1862 due to extreme nearsightedness.
Later served as captain in a Trans-Mississippi theater unit.

Married in 1864.
Member of Masonic Holland Lodge No. 1; Knight Templar.
Alderman of Houston.
State Senator in the 22nd Legislature.
Worked at F. R. Lubbock & Son as a Commission Merchant and Auctioneer.
Died March 16, 1913, survived by his wife and four children.
Buried at Evergreen Cemetery.

Nephew of Colonel T. S. Lubbock.
