Mustered into Company G at Houston, TX on September 16, 1861.
Suffered slight hand wound near Triune, TN on December 27, 1862.
Captured as a sergeant near Rome, GA in October 1864.
Forwarded to Camp Douglas, IL in October 1864.
Claimed in prison to be loyal and to have been conscripted, but January 1865
request for parole was denied.
Claiborne indicates he was referred to by another Ranger as "the poorest
excuse for a Terry Ranger."
