Charles Samuel Kemp

February 1838 - April 16, 1916

 

Born in LA around 1838.
Resided at Big Creek, Ft. Bend County, TX in 1860 with his mother and four siblings, occupied as a cow driver.
Described as 5'10", with light hair, fair complexion, and blue eyes.

Mustered into Company H at Houston, TX on September 7, 1861.
Became ill during trip to KY.
Discharged in October 1861 due to consumption, hemoptysis, and disease of right lung.

Died April 16, 1916.
Buried in the Texas State Cemetery.
