occupied as a stockraiser.
Mustered into Company I at Houston, TX on September 11, 1861.
Elected 4th Sergeant.
Promoted to 2nd Lieutenant in May 1862.
Received furlough in August 1862 due to illness.
Suffered bad foot wound at Murfreesboro, TN on December 31, 1862.
Detached to Brigadier General Wharton's
staff as 2nd Lieutenant by December 1863.
Promoted to 1st Lieutenant by October 1864 or January 1865.
Present in February 1865.
Promoted to Captain in March 1865.
Member of Terry Lodge, Regimental Masonic Chapter.
Claiborne indicates he was wounded twice.
