Born in IL or in Madison County, TX on November 16, 1825.
Resided at La Grange, Fayette County, TX in 1860; occupied as a lawyer.

Mustered into Company F at Houston, TX on September 7, 1861.
Elected 1st Lieutenant.
Promoted to Captain on January 8, 1862.
Commanded regiment in the latter part of August 1862.
Promoted to Acting Major by August 1862.
Ill in December 1862.
Absent by April 1863 due to illness.
Wounded (apparently) at Chickamauga, GA in September 1863.
Received wounds to arm and/or left wrist near Rugledge, TN on December 16, 1863.
Hospitalized at "Broysville," TN until at least February 1864 due to Dec. 1863 wounds.
Received slight wound to leg by early March 1865; received leg wound at Bentonville, NC in March 1865; unknown if these are the same wound or separate wounds.
Located in Charlotte, NC recovering in May 1865.

Died November 28, 1872.
Buried in Old City Cemetery, La Grange, Fayette County, TX.

Cousin of S. L. Jarmon, Co. F, and Richard A. Jarman, Co. F.
