Born in Sumter County, AL around 1839.
Resided in Bosqueville, McLennan County in 1860 with his brother; occupied as a teamster.

Initially member of 7th TX Infantry.
Enlisted with Company A in Marshall Texas by A. C. Frazier on October 2, 1861.
Escaped capture at Fort Donelson and transferred to the Rangers in the Spring of 1862 (perhaps never officially).
Wounded in the leg at Murfreesboro, TN
Listed as present in August 1862.
Rejoined the 7th Texas Infantry on November 4, 1862.
Detached as a butcher January to October 1863.
Detailed for duty with the Infirmary Corps March to April 1864.
Slightly Wounded in the thigh July 22, 1864 in Atlanta, GA.
Killed in action on November 30, 1864 at Franklin, TN.
Buried in Carnton Cemetery, Franklin, TN.
