Born in Marion County, AL on July 24, 1834.
Resided in Bastrop, Bastrop County, TX in 1860 with wife and four children.

Reached regiment by February 1862.
Enlisted in Company D at Corinth, MS on April 15, 1862 by Colonel Wharton.
Promoted to 2nd Corporal by April 1863.
Present in February 1864.
Left regiment in north AL in October 1864 and thought to have returned to TX.
Member of Terry Lodge, Regimental, Masonic Chapter.

Attended the 1902 Terry's Texas Rangers Regimental Reunion at Dallas.

Elected commander of the J. D. Sayers Camp ExConfederates of Bastrop County.

Died on January 14, 1921 in Smithville, Bastrop County, TX.

Cousin of D. O. Hill, Co. D, and R. T. Hill, Co. D.
